The Portrait Academy Series, now in its sixth year, provides attendees with a unique opportunity to watch, learn and talk with nationally known artists. Attendees can choose to attend the Friday night demonstration, solely, or the two-day event format. On Friday evening, our featured artist will demonstrate the painting process from start to finish. A questions and answer session will follow, allowing audience members to participate in an intimate conversation with the artist. The Friday night demonstration by an acclaimed artist sets the stage for the all day workshop on Saturday. Attendees will set up their easel and paint from a live model under the featured artist’s instruction. In addition, portfolio reviews will be available at the end of Saturday’s session in which the participants will be offered expert advice and guidance. Availability for spaces at these events are based on a first come, first registered basis. These programs sell out quickly and we encourage you to register early. Once a program fills, we will establish a waiting list.

The Portrait Society of America is a not-for-profit organization directed by a governing board of artists dedicated to
fostering and enhancing the practice, aesthetics and applications of traditional, fine art portraiture.
Membership is open to all individuals with an interest in the art of the portrait.
